This is one of the first questions business owners ask, and the honest answer is that it depends on what you need. That can sound like a dodge, so this guide explains exactly what it depends on, how agencies in Pakistan typically structure their pricing and how to work out a sensible budget.

We have deliberately avoided quoting specific rupee figures. Prices change, vary widely between providers and depend heavily on scope. What does not change is the set of factors that drive cost.

The two parts of a digital marketing budget

Most budgets have two separate parts:

  1. Media spend. The money paid directly to Google, Meta, TikTok or other platforms for ads. This goes to the platform, not the agency.
  2. Service fees. What you pay an agency or freelancer for strategy, setup, management, content, design and reporting.

Keeping these separate matters. If a provider bundles them together, it becomes hard to know how much of your money is actually reaching your customers.

How agencies usually price their work

Monthly retainers

Ongoing services like SEO, social media management and ads management are usually billed monthly. The retainer covers a defined scope: a number of posts, articles, campaigns, reports and meetings.

Project fees

One-off work like a website, a brand identity or an automation build is usually priced as a project, with payments split across milestones.

Percentage of ad spend

Some agencies charge a percentage of monthly ad spend for paid media management. This is simple, but it can create an incentive to increase spend. Many agencies, including ours, prefer a fee based on the work involved.

Performance-based pricing

Occasionally agencies charge per lead or per sale. This sounds attractive but works only when tracking is reliable and both sides agree on what counts as a qualified lead.

What drives the cost

Your goals and timeline

Wanting a steady trickle of local enquiries is a different project from wanting to double online revenue in a year.

Competition in your market

Ranking for “real estate in Lahore” or “best dentist in Karachi” requires far more effort than ranking for a specialised B2B service. Competition also raises click costs in Google Ads.

Number of channels

One channel managed well costs less than an integrated program across SEO, ads, social, content and automation. That said, integrated programs often produce better results per rupee because the channels support each other.

Content and creative volume

The number of articles, social posts, videos and ad creatives per month is one of the biggest cost drivers. Video production costs more than static design.

Website condition

If your website is slow or confusing, part of the budget may need to go into fixing it before traffic campaigns make sense. Our web development page explains what this typically involves.

Reporting and tracking needs

Basic reporting is part of most services. Connecting marketing data to your CRM and tracking offline sales takes more setup but gives a much clearer view of return.

How to set a sensible budget

A practical way to think about budget is to work backwards from your numbers:

  1. What is a customer worth to you? Consider average order value and repeat purchases.
  2. What can you afford to pay to acquire one? This is your target cost per acquisition.
  3. How many new customers do you want each month?
  4. What are typical conversion rates in your industry? An agency can estimate this from experience and data.

This gives you a rough monthly figure to test against. Start with a budget you can sustain for at least three months, because most channels need time to learn and optimise.

Warning signs when comparing quotes

  • Guaranteed rankings or leads. Nobody controls Google’s results or customer behaviour.
  • No clear scope. If the proposal does not list exactly what is included, you cannot compare it fairly.
  • Very cheap SEO packages. These often rely on low-quality links that can hurt your site.
  • No access to your own accounts. You should always own your ad accounts, analytics and website.
  • Vanity metric reporting. Followers and impressions without any link to leads or sales.

Our guide on how to choose a digital marketing agency in Pakistan covers this in more detail.

Getting a clear quote

The fastest way to get a meaningful price is to share your goals, current website, any existing ad accounts and your expected timeline. With that information, an agency can recommend a scope and price it properly. You can request a custom proposal from our team, and we will explain exactly what is included and why.

FAQ

Have a question that is not covered here?

Ask us directly

Is ad spend included in agency fees?

Usually not. Most reputable agencies charge a management fee and you pay ad platforms like Google and Meta directly. This keeps spending transparent and means you own your accounts.

Why do agency prices vary so much in Pakistan?

Because scope varies enormously. A freelancer posting three times a week and a team running strategy, ads, SEO, content and reporting are not offering the same service, even if both call it digital marketing.
